Beginnings

In 1955, Marvin Weiss started as a discount toy store called "Toy Riot," and he sold 88 cent toys out of the Hilda Sloan Shopping Center in Pennsauken, NJ. In addition to toys, Marvin sold folding aluminum furniture and eventually he began selling rattan and redwood furniture. The store became a South Jersey fixture.

Viking Grows

In 1965, Marvin and his wife Rose moved into the furniture business. They sold off all the toys and became Viking Casual Furniture. Viking soon established a reputation as a family-run business with unparalleled customer service. In 1977, they moved to a storefront in Maple Shade to accommodate their growing inventory, and in 1986 they moved to Route 70 in Cherry Hill. In 2015 Viking Furniture returned to Maple Shade and moved to its new location at 123 East Main Street in Maple Shade NJ 08052.

Viking Today

With the passing of Marvin and the recent passing of Rose, their son Stuart is carrying on the family business.
